Frequently asked
Answers for homeowners in Berlin and Brandenburg.
What customers around the Berlin metro area ask most — lead times, building permits, heights, prices and warranty. Question not on the list? Just send us a message.
Do you deliver and install in Berlin and Brandenburg?
Yes — our own installation team comes directly to you across Berlin (all postcodes 10xxx–14xxx), Potsdam, and the surrounding Brandenburg region. Delivery and installation are included in the fixed price. You don't need to commission a separate contractor.
How long does delivery take?
Double-bar mesh fences 3–8 weeks; modern and classical wrought-iron fences 6–8 weeks from order confirmation — including delivery and installation. The exact installation date is confirmed in writing with the order.
How long will a Dolstahl fence last?
Realistically 40 years and more. Every steel part is first hot-dip galvanised to DIN ISO 1461 and then powder coated — two independent layers of corrosion protection that back each other up. Paint without prior galvanising typically lasts only 5–10 years.
How much does a metal fence cost?
Double-bar mesh is the most affordable option; hand-finished wrought-iron fences are at the upper end. We price every project individually — measurements, gates, heights and finish all affect the price. A binding fixed-price quote including delivery and installation is free and without obligation.
Do I need a building permit in Berlin or Brandenburg?
In most cases, no. In Berlin, boundary fences are generally permit-free under BauO Bln § 62; Brandenburg's BbgBO §§ 60–61 are similar. Taller fences, corner plots or properties in heritage or redevelopment zones may follow different rules — check with the local Bauamt if in doubt.
What heights are typical in Berlin and Brandenburg?
Front-garden fences typically 90–120 cm; rear or side boundaries 140–180 cm. We build every height to measure — modern and classical fences have no standard heights. Double-bar mesh comes in standard heights from 103 cm to 203 cm, with custom heights on request.
What's the difference between double-bar mesh and a wrought-iron fence?
Double-bar mesh is an industrial steel grid with two horizontal wires at each crossing — affordable, quick to install, very low-maintenance, ideal for rear gardens and boundaries. Wrought-iron fences are built from solid steel profiles with bespoke, sometimes hand-forged details — more representative, longer-lasting in appearance, higher price.
Which colours and finishes are available?
Every RAL colour — most commonly anthracite (RAL 7016), deep black (RAL 9005), DB 703 and moss green (RAL 6005). Structured finishes such as hammertone and iron mica are also available, particularly popular on wrought-iron fences.
Can you supply just a gate, without the fence?
Yes. Sliding gates, swing gates (single- or double-leaf) and pedestrian gates are also produced as individual elements — manual or motorised. Every gate has the same corrosion protection as our fences.
Do you come for an on-site measurement?
Yes. A non-binding measurement appointment in Berlin or Brandenburg is free of charge. Alternatively you can take the measurements yourself and send them with photos — we verify everything before production begins.
